To get things started!

The most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, supplementational...?

By now, most of you will know what Naturopathy is. It  focuses on natural remedies and the body’s innate ability to heal and maintain itself. This system of health care emphasises prevention through stress reduction and a healthy diet & lifestyle.

And by now, most of you will be familiar with my particular ‘brand’ of Naturopathy… I have a bit of a reputation for being no-nonsense!

I’m not here to make friends (I don’t necessarily tell you what you want to hear.) I’m no chef. I don’t create tasty recipes. And, I don’t create pretty food and take ‘pics’ of it for you.

I certainly don’t care what everyone else is doing, or eating. I just care about getting you healthy in the most cost-effective, straight-forward way possible.

But, here’s what you might not know about me — I go to a lot of effort to make your appointment fun, easy, informative, and motivational.

Behind the scenes 'stuff':

  1. I'm not a Prima Donna or a Muppet

Please don’t come to me (or come back to me) thinking that I’m not going to understand the situation you are in, or that I’m going to make unrealistic demands of you.

I work for you, and with you. I try to make your life easier — not more difficult. You tell me what it is you’re trying to achieve, and ‘what you’re up for’, and I’ll help you to do this the best way I know how. My job is to support you to reach a level of health that you’re comfortable and happy with.

Note: My ‘regulars’ tell me exactly what they need from me when they rebook. Depending upon what’s ‘going-on’, they let me know if they want me to play ‘good’ Naturopath or ‘bad’ Naturopath with them!

  2. You need to get a fully featured back-stage pass

In most cases, I’ll need you to hang-out with me for at least twelve weeks, before you determine whether or not I’m the right person to be advising you on your health1.

While I can help to ‘cure’ certain health complaints within a couple of days or weeks, for more profound healing, it may take weeks to months to completely ‘turn-you-around’.

To support your ongoing health, we need to establish an ongoing relationship. (You don’t just have to come and see me when something is ‘wrong’.)  Therefore, the following is advisable:

    FOLLOW-UP appointment
1—4 weeks after your initial meeting

    MONITORING appointment
6 weeks after your FOLLOW-UP appointment

    REVIEW appointments
Anywhere from every 3 months — to once per year

Note: I have clients that I’ve had since I started practicing (back in 2007). They simply contact me when they need top-ups on their supplements or herbs, or ‘book in’ when they need to revisit their treatment plan. I have other clients that book into see me either weekly or monthly — to keep them on track with their health objectives.

  3. You're the one directing me

‘Keep me in the loop’ by providing me with regular feedback & updates on your health.

If what I’ve recommended to you isn’t helping, please tell me. I can’t help you if I don’t know what’s going on. It may be necessary for me to ‘tweak’ a treatment plan until it works well for you2.

And, while you may know exactly what you need to do following your session, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll do it! I don’t mind how many times I have to tell you something, or help you with a particular issue — it’s my job to educate, motivate, and support you. I will keep doing this until we get the job done. Therefore, don’t feel embarrassed, frustrated, or ‘give up’ if you haven’t managed to implement your treatment plan, it’s still important that you come back and see me. We’ll discuss what the problem is, and I’ll help you figure it out.

Note: Even if I haven’t seen you for some time, it’s no problem. We can simply pick-up where we left off… or we can ‘hit the reset button’.

Similarly, if you have a change of circumstance which makes it difficult for you to follow your treatment plan — then please let me know. Allow me the opportunity to get the job done that we started together. I can either offer you a payment scheme,  adjust your current plan to make it more manageable, or provide you with whatever you need to feel supported.

The show must go on!

Whatever works best for you
In most cases, you don’t need to ‘book in’ with me to get a repeat prescription of your supplements and/or herbs (from your treatment plan).  You can simply email me and I’m happy to courier out your products — if you are confident that they are continuing to help with your health3.

Random + miscellaneous health issues
While you’re under my care, if you have any ‘random + miscellaneous’ health issues (a cold, cough, food poisoning etc) I am happy for you to contact me for some quick advice4.

Here I may be able to advise you on using a product that I know you have (I’ll simply alter the dosage required), or I can send you out a ‘practitioner-grade’ product as necessary.

Everybody benefits
This service is not only convenient for you, but it provides you with continuity of care. This process enables me to monitor you, and to keep up-to-date notes on you. This information can then be taken into consideration when we next ‘catch-up’.

This can potentially save you from buying additional supplements (on the advice of someone unfamiliar with you) when something you already have may do the trick.

And now let's get things started... (Why don't you get things started?) It's time to get things started...

It’s time to make an appointment to see me.

The sooner you do this, the sooner we can get things started.
We can begin working together towards getting you healthy, and keeping you that way.

Here’s some more insight into my philosophy on natural health, that might help you to get to know me a little better 😉
